Lord Sri Krishna

Lord Krishna was the son of Vasudeva and Devaki but, when his maternal uncle Kamsa, the wicked king of Mathura, tried to kill him, he was smuggled across the Yamuna River to Gokula and raised by the leader of the cowherds, Nanda and his wife Yashoda.

Lord Krishna is considered as the God of love and compassion. He was the one who enlightened Arjuna on the Mahabharata battlefield by sharing his knowledge. An entire book has been written on his teaching and it happens to be the most popular book in India: The Bhagavad Gita.

In Bhagavad-Gita Lord Krishna said that everything happens for a cause or good reason. Whatever happens in life happen for good and there is always a cause or reason behind that. He also mentioned that we all are children of God, the one creator. God is supreme power and this world is governed by him. Sri. N S Rajaram, author of the book Search for the Historical Krishna, says that we are on fairly firm ground when it comes to the historicity of Krishna and the Mahabharata war. "There is sufficient evidence available now to suggest that Krishna was indeed a historical figure, who lived about 5000 years ago.1
